Jaylen Houston brings rangy, physical DB play and special-teams versatility to EKU
In the 2023 season at Eastern Kentucky, Jaylen Houston played in four games and recorded two tackles, following a 2022 season with six tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss; his earlier 2021 breakout at College of DuPage featured 43 tackles, nine pass breakups, and two interceptions. Houston’s appeal is his gritty, multi-level defensive back profile: he has shown ball production, toughness, and the kind of willingness to get involved that coaches love in nickel/safety roles. That said, his Eastern Kentucky production has been modest, so the fit is best for a staff that values depth, special teams, and a physical, assignment-sound defender.
