Clemson legacy lineman whose promise was derailed by injuries
Watson Young entered Clemson as a three-star in-state legacy with real developmental upside: a 6-foot-3, 275- to 280-pound interior lineman from Daniel High who was praised for depth value and long-term potential. In the 2024 season, a knee injury ended his year before it began, and he did not appear in game action in 2025. His biggest differentiators were his Clemson bloodlines, local toughness, and workmanlike fit in the program — but the injury history and his 2026 departure from the team mean he’s no longer a fit for Clemson’s current roster picture.
