Cornell LHP Sam Keene brings energy, but his 2025 debut season was a growing-pains test
In the 2025 season, Sam Keene showed arm-side intrigue as a 6-foot-4 lefty who moved from the bullpen into starts, but his rookie year at Cornell was uneven: 1-3 with an 11.84 ERA over 24 1/3 innings, 18 strikeouts, 25 walks, and a season-high four strikeouts against Columbia. Cornell’s own coverage and Keene’s preseason comments paint him as a high-energy, team-first competitor who leans on precision and says he wants to “leave it all out on the field.” He looks more like a developmental fit than an instant plug-in.
