Hogan Shelby brings length, strikeout upside, and bullpen versatility to Long Beach State
In the 2026 season, Hogan Shelby is a 6-foot-3 redshirt junior right-hander who gives Long Beach State a multi-inning arm with upside after a strong 2025 at San Jacinto College North, where he went 4-2 with 37 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. He has already shown he can be used in relief for the Beach, and his profile suggests a pitcher with enough competitiveness and adaptability to fit a staff that values flexible bullpen pieces. The swing factor is command consistency, but the arm strength and recent progression make him a legit watch-list name.
