Alex Thomas brings lefty depth and a strike-throwing profile to Butler’s staff
In the 2026 season, Butler’s Alex Thomas has given the Bulldogs a workable left-handed option on the mound, after logging 16 appearances in 2025 with 17 innings, 11 strikeouts and a 14.82 ERA; the raw numbers say he’s still sharpening command, but the usage shows the staff trusts him to eat innings and attack matchups. At 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, he profiles as a compact, situational LHP who can give a roster flexibility—useful if your team values left-on-left matchup value, bullpen depth, and a pitcher who’s already been tested in multiple roles.
