Andrew Ermis brings power, patience and run production behind the plate
In 2025 at Temple, Ermis hit .338 with 10 home runs, 41 RBIs and a .479 on-base percentage, then showed he could translate that approach to Texas in 2026 by producing in a limited role while drawing walks and getting hit by pitches at a strong clip. His calling card is disciplined, physical offense from the catcher spot — he creates extra value by reaching base, driving the ball and handling traffic in the middle of the order. He also earned praise as a tough, durable competitor, though a hand contusion was noted in 2026.
