Rod Gainey Jr. brings burst-and-balance upside to Charlotte’s backfield
In the 2025 season, Rod Gainey Jr. emerged as a useful Charlotte runner with 260 rushing yards on 74 carries and a 37-yard long run, flashing enough burst to threaten chunk gains while working as a compact, 175-185-pound back[2][14]. He looks like a fit for a team that wants a runner who can create on contact and stay active as a rotational piece, though the raw efficiency numbers suggest he’s still polishing consistency and run-to-run impact[2][10].
