New Haven’s righty with live-arm upside, but 2026 results have been bumpy
In the 2026 season, Blake Beattie has shown the kind of right-handed arm New Haven can build on, but the early returns have been uneven: he’s listed as a 6'1" RHP and has also been used in the New Haven rotation/pitching mix[1][6]. In one March 2026 outing, he was hit hard by Stony Brook, allowing 4 runs without recording an out[5][9]. The appeal is upside and opportunity, but right now he looks more like a developmental arm than an instant-impact anchor[1][5].
