Joe Sabbath has become Rhode Island’s go-to arm, then a starter
Joe Sabbath is a right-handed pitcher who moved from Rhode Island’s 2025 closer role to the Friday starter job in 2026, a strong sign the staff trusts his competitiveness and strike-throwing ability. In 2026, he posted a 5.93 ERA across 57.2 innings with 58 strikeouts and 26 walks, while also handling high-leverage moments and finishing the season with wins in relief and a key championship-game contribution. He stands out for versatility, composure in pressure spots, and a no-quit profile that should appeal to teams looking for a tough, adaptable arm.
