Joey Van Zegeren brings size, efficient finishing, and a proven interior impact
At Northwestern, Joey Van Zegeren was a traditional rim-running center whose best value came from size, efficiency around the basket, and rebounding; in 2015-16 he had a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double and shot 54.5% from the field in ESPN’s listed season stats. He was not a high-usage offensive creator, but his profile suggests a dependable paint presence who can anchor second-unit minutes. The key fit question is foul-line shooting and limited perimeter game, but if you need a sturdy interior big with soft hands and board work, he’s a useful fit.
