Josh Jones gives McNeese a physical, defensive-minded presence behind the plate
In the 2026 season, Josh Jones is listed as a junior catcher for McNeese at 5-9, 215, which signals a compact, sturdy build that usually plays well for durability and receiving. The available roster and team data do not show 2026 stats yet, so the best read right now is from his role: a catcher profile that suggests toughness, game management, and run-stopping value more than flash. If your team wants a steady backstop who can handle the grind, Jones looks like the kind of player coaches trust early and often.
