Breck Romero brings junior-year versatility and clutch contact to Western Illinois
Breck Romero is a junior catcher for Western Illinois in the 2026 season, listed at 5-foot-10, and he’s already shown he can contribute when the Leathernecks need a steady bat and a calm presence. In April 2026, he had a three-hit game with an RBI against Little Rock, hinting at a contact-oriented profile rather than pure power. He fits the mold of a dependable team piece: not flashy, but tough, experienced, and useful in pressure spots — the kind of player coaches love because he keeps innings alive and handles the grind.
