Caleb Emswiler brings size, arm strength, and two-way upside to Gardner-Webb’s staff
Emswiler is a 6-foot-4 right-handed pitcher whose profile points to projectable power and strike-throwing upside, with prep and summer-league reports showing an 86.7 mph fastball peak and a strong, athletic frame that should keep trending up. His high-school résumé also showed real run prevention and run production, highlighted by a .425 average, six homers, and 40 RBIs in one season, which suggests competitive toughness and impact-mindset traits beyond the mound. He looks like a fit for a program willing to develop a raw but intriguing arm into a useful bullpen or rotation piece.[1][2][5][6]
