Michael Ertel brings proven scoring punch and playmaking to UAB’s backcourt
Michael Ertel is a high-usage guard known for scoring, creating for others, and generating steals, with reported production of 27 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals per game for Hong Kong JinNiu in June 2025. That profile suggests an aggressive, offense-first backcourt fit who can carry possessions and pressure defenses, especially if a team needs shot creation and tempo control. His value is in instant offense and competitiveness more than size-based impact, making him a strong fit for a system that empowers guards to make plays.
