Cooper Waddle is a smallish, left-handed strike-thrower with big-state poise
In 2026, Cooper Waddle enters Southern Miss as a redshirt freshman LHP after not pitching in his first season with the program, which means the Golden Eagles are still waiting to see his college mound impact. At Itawamba AHS, he stood out for pitchability and two-way value: he posted a 0.66 ERA with 59 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings as a junior and again showed run prevention and bat-to-ball impact as a senior, while earning All-State and Defensive MVP recognition. The fit? A competitive, multi-sport-style grinder who brings local pedigree, athleticism, and upside—but he’s still more projection than proven college weapon.
