Caden Wanless brings veteran bullpen reliability to UTRGV
Wanless is a senior right-handed pitcher for UTRGV who has worked primarily in relief and delivered high-leverage value, including a first-career save in 2026 on 1.1 hitless innings at No. 21 Sam Houston.[1] In 2026, he posted a 5.31 ERA over 20.1 innings with 23 strikeouts and 8 walks, suggesting swing-and-miss stuff but some run-prevention volatility.[3] His summer-league line was cleaner—0.00 ERA, 7 strikeouts, and no walks in 3.1 innings—hinting at a pitcher who can miss bats and give you poise when the command is sharp.[5]
