Jaden Wincher is a rising, do-it-all presence on UTRGV’s defensive front
Wincher has already flashed real production for UTRGV, finishing the 2025 season with 19 tackles, 0.5 sacks and even a 7-yard interception return, which is a fun little wrinkle for a 6-foot-3, 270-pound DL.[2][3] He’s a sturdy, active interior defender with enough burst to create disruption and enough versatility to impact the box score beyond just tackles. UTRGV’s 2026 offseason notes also identified him as one of the program’s returning multi-game defensive starters, a good sign that the staff trusts his motor, toughness and reliability.[3][10]
