polished lefty with strike-throwing upside and proven run prevention
Brayden Mercier is a Massachusetts left-handed pitcher whose calling card is efficiency: his UMass bio says he posted a **0.85 ERA**, **59 strikeouts**, a **0.82 WHIP**, and held hitters to a **.153 average** in 42 innings during his senior year. That profile suggests a pitcher who limits traffic, misses bats, and gives his team stability rather than flash. He also arrives with meaningful recognition—New England Baseball Journal MIAA Player of the Year and multiple all-star honors—which points to a competitive, high-end prep resume that should translate well in a staff looking for a dependable lefty arm.[1]
