Nehemiah Barrett brings high-energy, downhill thump to Northwestern State’s linebacker room
In the 2025 recruiting cycle, Barrett arrived at Northwestern State as a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker known for violence at the point of attack, energy, and production as a prep pass-rusher and run-stopper. Northwestern State described him as a “tough, hard-hitting linebacker” who plays with a lot of energy, and his high school résumé backs that up: 22 tackles for loss and 19 sacks across his junior and senior seasons, plus a strong track record of disruption before an injury cut into his senior year. The big question is health and how quickly that edge translates to the college game—but the ceiling is the kind of tone-setting defender coaches love.
