Issac Covington brings downhill versatility and special-teams juice to Tulsa
In the 2025 season, Issac Covington was a redshirt freshman at Tulsa listed at 5-11 and 215 pounds, with appearances in seven games on defense and special teams after seeing action in three games in 2024[1][4]. What makes him interesting is the blend: he was a productive, physical high-school defender with ball skills and rushing production, then transitioned into a flexible STAR/linebacker piece who can help in coverage, run support, and on special teams[1][13][14]. He looks like a tone-setter more than a stat-stuffer right now, which is exactly the kind of do-everything depth a staff loves to stash and grow[1].
