Trey Rubinstein brings toughness and playmaking flashes to Kent State’s linebacker room
Rubinstein entered Kent State as a highly productive Ohio prep linebacker, and in the 2025 season he played in 8 games, finishing with 14 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery—small sample, but the kind of impact that jumps off the page. At 6-2 and 190, he looks like a rangy, energetic defender with the intensity to diagnose and attack quickly, and Kent State’s staff still has him in the mix for 2026. He’s a good fit for a team that wants a hungry, developing LB with special-teams value and take-away upside.
