Zane Nordquist brings rare no-hit pedigree and legit lefty upside to UC Irvine
Nordquist arrived at UC Irvine with real headline value: he is the first pitcher in CIF San Diego Section history to throw back-to-back no-hitters, and Perfect Game listed him as the No. 196 left-handed pitcher in the nation and No. 17 LHP in California for the Class of 2025. His edge is strike-throwing confidence, competitiveness, and the kind of poise that shows up in big moments rather than just radar-gun chatter. If you want a young arm with verified dominant feel, a high ceiling, and a resume built on performance under pressure, he’s worth caring about.
