Molessa brings veteran bat and big-game résumé to Eastern Michigan
Leewood Molessa entered the 2026 season as a redshirt junior transfer to Eastern Michigan after earning 2025 America East Preseason All-Conference First Team, All-Tournament Team, and Academic All-District honors at UMBC[2]. In the 2025 season, he led UMBC with 44 RBI, 11 home runs, and a .554 slugging percentage, and in the 2026 season he added steady production for EMU, including a .224 average with 9 RBI and a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen-base attempts[4][6]. He looks like a tough, mature middle-infield fit: competitive, disciplined, and reliable enough to help a lineup even when the power isn’t carrying the day[1][7].
