South Carolina State’s Versatile G/F with MEAC Top-5 Free Throw Drive
Gabe McCray, a 6-foot-5 guard-forward for the South Carolina State Bulldogs, stands out as a high-intensity, two-way player who thrives in transition and at the free throw line—ranking among the MEAC’s top free throw attempters in the 2025-26 season [1]. His differentiator is his aggressive finisher mentality combined with positional versatility, allowing him to defend multiple spots and create his own shot off the dribble. While no public injury history is documented, McCray’s consistent presence in key rotation games suggests durability and a high work ethic. Coaches seeking a gritty, adaptable wing who elevates team offense through free throw volume and defensive flexibility will find McCray a strong fit. His intensity and basketball IQ make him a player worth watching beyond the stats.
