Lachlan Maude brings contact-driven upside and veteran catching presence to New Mexico
Maude is a 2025-26 New Mexico catcher listed at 6-foot-? and 240 pounds who has already shown he can deliver in pressure spots, including back-to-back pinch-hit knocks in late-game situations for the Lobos.[1][2] He also arrives with a reputation for solid hitting and leadership from his junior-college and college stops, which makes him more than a stat line—he looks like a composed, physical backstop who can give a staff stability and add timely offense.[8][14] If you want a catcher with experience, toughness, and a mature approach rather than pure hype, Maude is the kind of fit that can quietly raise a roster’s floor.[1][8]
