SIU’s Nolan Hand: local arm with real bullpen utility
Nolan Hand is a 2026 junior right-hander for Southern Illinois whose calling card is a lively fastball in the low-90s with a sharp slider, giving him real relief upside when he’s on. In 2026, he has worked mainly out of the bullpen, and SIU’s official coverage noted he delivered a scoreless inning against Arkansas State, hinting at a usable short-outing profile. The appeal is the frame, arm strength, and room to keep growing; the question is consistency, since his 2026 stat line has been uneven. If you want a developmental RHP with strikeout traits and hometown edge, he’s intriguing.
