Xavier Lewis is emerging as UNC’s disruptive interior force
In the 2026 season, Xavier Lewis has flashed as a disruptive, all-down defensive tackle for North Carolina, earning ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week after a seven-tackle, 4.5-TFL, two-sack eruption against TCU. He brings twitch, effort, and real backfield juice for a 6-0, 250-pound interior lineman, with reports noting he’s improved against the run and can occupy blockers while still penetrating. The big selling point: he’s a high-upside, ascending fit for a defense that wants instant disruption, not just gap-eating bulk.
