Columbia’s innings-eating RHP Alex Sotiropoulos is the Lions’ workhorse with swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Alex Sotiropoulos led Columbia in innings pitched and strikeouts, working 61.2 innings with 51 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .262 average and striking out a career-high nine against Harvard. He’s a big, durable 6'4" right-hander who earned Columbia’s Rookie of the Year honor in 2025 after posting a 2.49 ERA in Ivy League play, and he’s already shown he can handle both rotation work and pressure moments. The wrinkle: his run prevention still has room to tighten, but the stuff, workload, and competitiveness make him a real fit if you want a starter who can take the ball and keep battles honest.
