Shay McDowell is a steady, versatile run-producer for SJSU
McDowell enters 2026 as a senior utility player who brings dependable contact, run production, and above-average defensive value: in 2025 she started 48 games, led San José State with 28 RBIs, and posted a .280 average with a .329 OBP while also showing a strong glove in prior seasons. Her profile stands out for versatility, consistency, and coach-friendly reliability rather than flash, and she also earned back-to-back Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Mountain West honors, which reinforces her high-floor, high-character fit for a competitive roster.
