Julian Lopez brings veteran, local-grown reliability to UTEP’s tight end room
Julian Lopez is a seasoned, homegrown UTEP tight end from El Paso who gives the Miners a reliable, physical presence and a strong football IQ built over a long career in the program. In the 2023 season, he caught 3 passes for 16 yards, but his real value is in his versatility, blocking edge, and willingness to do the dirty work that offenses need from a TE. At 6-foot-1, 246 pounds, he’s not a flashy mismatch artist, but he looks like a steady fit for a team that wants toughness, experience, and trustworthiness on the field.
