Alabama’s veteran defensive quarterback with NFL-ready instincts
Lawson is a high-end Alabama linebacker whose value goes beyond tackles: in 2025 he logged 58 tackles in 591 snaps, added 12 pressures and a sack as a blitzer, and was trusted as a two-time captain and defensive signal-caller.[1][6] His calling cards are experience, leadership, and fast-processing instincts in the middle of the defense, while his main question is consistency in coverage and finishing plays, as he was charged with 15 missed tackles and allowed a 115.8 passer rating when targeted.[1] After a 2024 season-ending injury, his comeback status and durability remain part of the evaluation.[6]
