senior righty bringing swing-and-miss upside, but still chasing consistency
In the 2026 season, Gardner-Webb senior RHP Colby Humphries has worked in relief with a strikeout-flash profile, but his results have been uneven: one public stat source lists him at 1-1 with a 5.29 ERA, 24 strikeouts, and 1.82 WHIP in 32.1 innings, while team/game logs show both effective outings and some bumpy ones. His appeal is the arm talent and experience—he’s a veteran Boiling Springs native, a former 3A Big South Pitcher of the Year, and a transfer with prior college innings—so he fits teams wanting an older bullpen arm who can miss bats, especially if they can help sharpen command and contact management.
