Walker Robey brings legitimate catching upside and a power-over-contact bat to Murray State
Robey arrived at Murray State as a well-regarded Mississippi prep catcher, ranked by Perfect Game as the state’s 11th-best catcher and 121st overall player, and he immediately projects as a value add because his game is built on extra-base juice, arm strength, and catcher poise rather than flash-only tools. In the 2026 season, he appeared in 17 games and hit .182 with six hits, all for extra bases, including four doubles and two home runs, while driving in 10 runs. That profile screams “don’t sleep on him”: he’s a gritty, high-IQ backstop with real upside if the bat continues to mature.
