In the 2025 season, Mario Buford played in two games and redshirted, after arriving as a four-star recruit ranked among the nation’s top 25 cornerbacks by On3 and No. 180 overall; Nebraska has viewed him as a boundary-corner type with the length and versatility to play across the secondary. His appeal is the combo package: 6-foot size, competitive toughness, and enough athletic range to “play taller” than his frame suggests. If you want a developmental DB with upside and multi-safety/corner flexibility, Buford is a worthwhile fit.
