Danny Nelson is Clemson’s freshman strike-thrower with swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Clemson right-hander Danny Nelson emerged as one of the Tigers’ better bullpen weapons, posting a 3.90 ERA with 41 strikeouts, 10 walks, and a .228 opponent batting average across 30.0 innings. He also earned All-ACC Freshman honors and showed late-inning bite, allowing just one run in 8.0 innings after the eighth inning. What makes him interesting is the fastball/slider/changeup mix, the athletic frame, and a Cape Cod summer that flashed starter-level upside; he looks like a high-leverage arm with room to grow into more.
