Sun Belt Special Teams Star: Ian Ratliff Delivers 70-Yard Bomb and 47.7 Avg in 2025 Win
Ian Ratliff, Appalachian State’s sophomore punter, is a high-intensity differentiator who earned Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week in November 2025 after a 70-yard punt to the 1-yard line and a 47.7-yard average in a 26-24 win over Marshall[8]. While his career average sits at 43.9 yards over two seasons at Texas and App State[3], his 2025 net average of 46.7 yards and ability to place two kicks inside the 20 show elite field-position control[8]. Ratliff (5'11", 185 lbs) is active, injury-free, and known for clutch execution under pressure—making him a reliable fit for teams prioritizing special teams dominance and game-changing punts[1][8].
