TCU’s Nolan Johnson: veteran lefty with swing-and-miss pedigree, but an early-2026 bumpy start
In the 2026 season, Nolan Johnson entered TCU after winning North Dakota State’s 2025 Summit League Pitcher of the Year award, when he struck out 79 batters in 87.2 innings and posted a 4.52 ERA, showing the kind of left-handed starter profile coaches love. His TCU fit is about upside: experience, starter’s mindset, and a track record of handling a real workload. The caution flag is command/consistency—his 2026 debut was rough, but he later settled in with shorter, steadier outings, so he looks like a useful innings arm if the control tightens.
