High-IQ lefty reliever with top-end command and swing-and-miss polish
In the 2026 season, Mason Lerma has been a steady bullpen weapon for UC Davis, going 4-2 with a 2.96 ERA over 26 relief appearances, 53 strikeouts in 54.2 innings, and a 1.41 WHIP. He earned 2025 Second Team All-Big West honors after leading the Aggies with 28 appearances and posting a 1.01 ERA, including a .197 opponent average in conference play. What makes him pop is not pure velocity, but pitchability, high baseball IQ, and refined command — the kind of lefty who fits because he keeps innings quiet and pressures hitters without needing flash.
