Justin Johnson brings size, two-way versatility and pro-ready swingman tools to UTRGV
Johnson is a 6'6" swingman who gives UTRGV a versatile perimeter option with a pro background, having played beyond college after graduating from UTRGV in 2023 and later suiting up for Bendigo in Australia and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the G League.[1] His best calling card is positional flexibility: he can defend multiple spots, handle the ball enough to play on the wing, and provide lineup fit as a connector rather than a pure volume scorer.[1] That makes him useful for a team that values toughness, adaptability, and experience over flash.
