Anthony Russell brings projectable catch-and-calm upside for Houston Christian
Anthony Russell is a redshirt freshman catcher for Houston Christian in the 2026 season, listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, with a strong academic profile and a baseball background that includes a .364 senior year at Dekaney after hitting .429 as a junior in high school. His fit is more “develop and polish” than instant stat-stuffer right now, but the appeal is clear: a sturdy catcher’s frame, experience behind the plate, and signs of a disciplined, high-upside work ethic. No 2026 college stats were available, so his current value is best judged as long-term defensive and developmental depth with room to grow.
