Rasheed Lovelace is Nicholls’ wrecking-ball nose tackle with rare playmaking juice
In the 2024 season, Rasheed Lovelace emerged as a disruptive interior force for Nicholls, finishing with 46 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and a forced fumble while earning Southland first-team and All-Louisiana honors. At 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, he brings NFL-ish size, anchor strength, and the uncommon ability to make splash plays from the defensive line — including a pick-six opener against Louisiana Tech in 2024. That blend of power, leverage, and instinct makes him a tough fit to block and an easy player to care about.
