ASU’s steady, high-leverage righty who keeps the innings clean
In the 2026 season, Taylor Penn has been one of Arizona State’s most trusted arms, working in relief and spot starts while posting a 2.14 ERA across 21 innings in one stretch cited by On3, then finishing the year as the team’s most experienced returning pitcher with 47 innings and 22 appearances; he’s a 6-foot-5 right-hander with a starter’s frame, strike-throwing feel, and enough calm to handle pressure spots, though he’s more steady than flashy. He looks like a smart fit for a staff that values versatility, competitiveness, and someone who won’t flinch when the game gets weird.
