Robert McCoy brings old-school forward grit to Portland State
McCoy is a 6-7 forward whose calling card has been toughness on the glass, efficient finishing, and timely rim protection; in the 2018-19 season at Portland State, he averaged 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 20 blocks while starting 29 games. That profile says “reliable glue guy” more than flashy scorer, and that’s exactly why coaches like him: he can rebound, defend multiple frontcourt spots, and handle physical minutes without needing the ball. If a team wants a high-motor, low-drama frontcourt piece with proven production, he fits.
