Blake Dean brings strikeout stuff to Troy’s bullpen
In the 2025 season at Kansas State, RHP Blake Dean flashed real miss-bat ability, striking out 36 hitters in 31 1/3 innings while working mostly in relief, but the 6.61 ERA and 17 walks show his game still comes with volatility.[1][4] His value is clear: a live arm who can handle multi-inning relief and generate outs when his command is on, with enough swing-and-miss to matter in tight games.[4] He looks like a fit for a staff that can sharpen his command and leverage his strikeout ceiling more consistently.[4]
