VMI’s breakout deep threat with big-play juice
In the 2025 season, Owen Sweeney emerged as one of VMI’s most dangerous playmakers, finishing with 44 catches for 723 yards and 8 touchdowns, with a 16.4 yards-per-catch average that screams vertical threat. He also delivered signature explosion games, including a 13-catch, 208-yard performance against Samford, and earned All-SoCon Second Team Offense and All-Freshman honors. At 6-4 and 200 pounds, he brings size, range, and red-zone value; a strong fit for teams wanting a long, competitive receiver who can stretch coverage and flip field position in a hurry.
