Elite RHP with 10.6 K/9 Spark and Scoreless-Relief Intensity
James Geshel, a 6'4", 220-lb sophomore RHP for Eastern Illinois, stands out with a 10.6 K/9 strikeout rate (55 K in 46.2 IP) and a 2.51 ERA in his breakout 2024 season, while his 2026 stats show resilience with 51 strikeouts in 51 IP despite a 4.41 ERA. His differentiator is elite intensity: he tossed 3.2 scoreless innings of relief in a 15-12 win over Butler, earning RBIs and proving he thrives in high-pressure, high-scoring chaos. Geshel’s personality is fiercely competitive and adaptable, with no injury history reported, making him a perfect fit for teams needing a reliable, fire-in-the-belly starter who can dominate with power pitching and stay sharp in any game scenario.
