Erik Hoffberg gives Gonzaga a strike-throwing, multi-inning bullpen weapon with real swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Hoffberg logged 43.1 innings over 13 appearances for Gonzaga, striking out 43 with a 5.61 ERA and adding two wins and two saves; he also moved into sixth place on the program’s career saves list. He’s a 6-foot-3, 200-pound righty with a track record of missing bats, and his earlier Gonzaga seasons showed higher leverage value, including a 2024 breakout with 48 strikeouts in 27.2 innings and five saves. The appeal: competitive enough for late innings, experienced, and built like a pro bullpen arm.
