Winthrop’s big righty Colby McNeely brings durable innings and strikeout juice
McNeely, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander, has given Winthrop a steady rotation/relief option in 2026, posting a 5-0 record with 30 strikeouts and a 5.70 ERA across his D1Baseball-tracked workload. His appeal is the frame, low-risk right-handed power profile, and ability to miss bats while handling meaningful innings; at Rider, he logged 28.1 innings with 23 strikeouts and had game-high punchout totals, showing usable stuff even when command or contact management wobbled. He looks like a fit for teams valuing size, competitiveness, and development upside over polished consistency.
