Elise Sanchez brings speed, polish, and academic discipline to Portland State’s outfield
In the 2025 season, Elise Sanchez appeared in 27 games as a freshman at Portland State, mostly as a pinch runner, and scored 11 runs while also earning Academic All-Big Sky and NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors. She’s described by the program as a “speedy asset,” which matters: her value goes beyond the box score because she can pressure defenses, change innings on the bases, and provide depth in the outfield. One catch: Portland State said she would redshirt in 2026, so her next impact is more long-term upside than immediate on-field production.
