Julian Mercado brings left-handed upside and early freshman flashes for Stetson
In the 2026 season, Julian Mercado appeared in seven games for Stetson as a true freshman, making five starts and hitting .200 with three hits in 15 at-bats, plus two runs, a walk, and two hit-by-pitches[4][14]. The takeaway is the profile, not just the stat line: a left-handed first base/outfield bat with room to grow, he already earned playing time on a competitive Hatters roster and projects as a development piece with on-base potential and versatility[4][9].
